Through watching him struggle with all these expectations and pressure he really grew into his own and grew into a character I really enjoyed reading about. He had to learn things on the fly, step on some toes and ruffle plenty of feathers as he progressed through rebuilding Vanhi since the war, working out trade deals and foreign alliances, overseeing the plans for the new sisterhood temple being built in the city, wedding plans, and researching ways to possibly save Deven from the Void. There was so much for him to overcome from his father's reign and the ensuing bhuta coup. He really had a lot on his plate that he was ill-prepared to deal with as the sudden ruler of Tarachand. They were so cute <3 And I also actually enjoyed reading Ashwin's chapters, which was a surprise considering that I haven't liked his character since he was first introduced in Fire Queen xD Ashwin has moved on from his crush on her (thank the gods). But this one has redeemed the series for me ^_^ It's definitely a 4.75 stars finale!! Oh this was such an improvement after the previous book! I love this one sooooo much better than Rogue Queen.
